The offer

Status: the 2026 Challenge has concluded. LGND AI won (announced at Snowflake Summit, June 4 2026). The official page now collects interest for the 2027 cycle (no live submission window yet). The card's old "Feb 18, 2026 deadline" is stale.

What it is: an annual competition (run with the NYSE) for early-stage startups building apps "powered by" Snowflake. The prize is an equity investment from Snowflake Ventures, not platform credits. The grand-prize winner gets up to $500,000, and 3 finalists up to $250,000 each, with "up to $1M" being the aggregate pool. Plus NYSE-network mentorship, global exposure, and ringing the NYSE bell.

Who qualifies

  • Early-stage startups (seed / pre-Series A) whose product is powered by Snowflake’s Data Cloud
  • Judged on market opportunity, uniqueness, team and technical use of Snowflake
  • Global, with restrictions per the official rules (funding/entity/region)
  • To enter the next cycle: register interest for the 2027 Challenge on the official page

Community Insights

The Snowflake Startup Challenge is a credibility-and-capital competition rather than a credits program. Winners get equity investment from Snowflake Ventures plus heavy exposure (NYSE bell, Summit stage). The 2026 cycle is over (LGND AI won; Airrived and Twine Security were the other finalists). Independent community discussion is thin; the signal that exists is past winners crediting it with sales and fundraising lift. Watch for the 2027 cycle to open.

Best Practices (from community tips)

  • Treat it as fundraising and exposure rather than free cloud credits: the prize is a Snowflake Ventures investment (up to $500k winner, $250k finalists).
  • Make Snowflake genuinely core to your product and show measurable use: that’s what the judging rewards.
  • Register interest now for 2027 and read the official rules for entity, region and funding restrictions before building an application.
  • Pair it with the open Startup Package (free usage) so you’re building on Snowflake well before you apply.
