Cartesia x Google Cloud Startups
The offer
An exclusive benefit for Scale-Tier members of the Google for Startups Cloud Program: 12 months of Cartesia's "Startup Tier", with up to 1.25M credits/month, up to 5 concurrent requests, and the full voice-AI suite (Sonic TTS, Ink STT, Line agents) including Pro Voice Cloning.
Who qualifies
- Mandatory: you must be a Scale-Tier member of the Google for Startups Cloud Program
- Best for teams building voice-AI products (voice agents, assistants, voice features) that need real concurrency/scale
Community Insights
Cartesia is the low-latency voice specialist (its Sonic TTS regularly tops streaming-latency benchmarks, ~75-90ms time-to-first-audio, and has won blind quality preference over ElevenLabs’ Flash model). This offer is a piggyback on Google for Startups: if you’re already in the Scale Tier, you get a generous 12-month Cartesia Startup Tier (1.25M credits/mo, 5 concurrent, Pro Voice Cloning). Caveats from the community: marketed latency is best-case (production P50 runs higher), and pronunciation control in agent integrations (e.g. LiveKit) still has rough edges. The whole offer is gated behind the Google Scale Tier, so it’s only useful if you qualify there.
Best Practices (from community tips)
- Get Google’s Scale Tier first. Without it, this Cartesia offer is inaccessible.
- Use Cartesia where latency is the constraint (real-time voice agents); it’s the speed/cost pick vs ElevenLabs’ realism/cloning.
- Budget the 1.25M credits/month carefully. A Pro Voice Clone train is credit-heavy, so plan how many voices you actually need.
- Test production latency, not the headline number. Measured P50 is higher than the marketed ~90ms; and plan pronunciation dictionaries early for domain terms.
