Super-resolution enlarges a blurry image and fills in detail so it looks sharper. We hoped it would make tiny price-tag text readable, but on small text it smooths and reshapes the digits, so the reading gets worse.
For engineers: learned upscaling that raises perceptual quality; without a domain fine-tune it invents strokes and lowers OCR accuracy on small text.
